The Ultimate Napkin Fold List

With our new stock of gauze napkins in three different colours — terracotta, dusty rose, and dusty blue —  this post will tell you exactly how to style these napkins, particularly dusty rose, for a charming, rustic style wedding (which is the MOMENT right now!). In event decor, the way you fold your napkin can completely change the guests’ experience as well as the entire vibe of your function. This article will explore 6 different ways to fold napkins, so you can choose the most perfect one for your event!

The first way you can style a napkin is the “top knot”. This unique fold gives off a rustic feel and is more creative compared to its more popular counterparts. Simply just knot the top of the napkin and voila — you have a simple napkin fold for your guests.

Secondly, we have the “basic fold”. Similar to the “classic fold”, the basic fold is made by folding the napkin into a rectangle and placing it anywhere on the plate. This variation has a longer rectangle fold under the plate, so it is still visible but doesn’t obscure possible name tag or menu placements.

The “pocket” is a fold where there is a slot left in the middle of the napkin. This flap leaves an opening for you to place the menu or any other decorative stationary! This fold looks impressive and will be sure to impress your guests.

This one isn’t much of a fold, but it involves more decoration! Simply push the napkin through a napkin ring of your choice and fluff out the edges how you desire. This will be sure to elevate your plate set-up and absolutely stun your guests! This fold also provides more opportunity to accent your table decor and intertwine all elements with your theme.

Then, we have the “classic knot” fold. This fold is timeless and goes with absolutely every setting to provide a fresh feel to your table set up. To do this fold, simply just knot the middle of the napkin and place the ends in any desired position!

Please note that not all venues or caterers will set up these napkin folds for you. Be sure to talk to your vendor or planner in terms of your vision and how you want it to come to life!
